The default way to build a modern product is to hire specialists: a development shop for the app, an AI vendor for the smart features, a security consultant before launch. Each is good at their part. The trouble is nobody owns the space between them.
Where things fall through
The dev team makes a data decision that the security review flags two months later. The AI vendor builds against an API the app team is about to change. Everyone did their job; the product still broke, because the context didn't travel across the handoffs.
You end up paying for the coordination — in meetings, in rework, in the weeks spent getting three parties who've never spoken to agree.

When the same people plan the build, wire in the AI, and check the security, the decisions in one area carry into the others by default. Security isn't a surprise. The AI integration isn't built on assumptions. There's no handoff to lose things in, because there's no handoff.
